30th year!! Once again the Sherman Municipal Lawn turns into a glorious hub of activity for this annual welcome to autumn. September 15, 2012. Featuring a Judged Art Show & Sale for ages 18 and up, Youth Art Show, Woodcarving Show & Sale; 5K, 15K and Fun Run, Continual Live Music, Pumpkin Patch, Pancake Breakfast, Used Book Sale, Museum Tours, T-shirt Painting for kids, Food Vendors galore and up to 100 Arts & Craft Vendors. Each year, Sherman Arts Festival welcomes more than 100 arts, crafts, and retail vendors to the Municipal Grounds. This year, we hope to have even more! All vendors must go through an application process to qualify as a vendor. Teddy Bear Parade |

Bear-lovers of all ages are invited to join in the parade! Registration sign up will be from 8:45 to 9:00 AM on Saturday, September 15 in front of Honey McGee Playhouse, located behind (west of) the Finley Theatre Playhouse on 313 W. Mulberry Street. There will be a judged contest for bears belonging to children aged 0 - 13, with awards, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place for these age categories: 0- 5 years old, 6 -10 years old and 11 - 13 years old. The Friends of the Sherman Public Library will once again host their Fall Used Book Sale in conjunction with the Sherman Arts Festival. You may take the TAPS bus from the Municipal Lawn to the Library, or just drive over to 421 N. Travis for the best selection of books this side of your grandma's attic.Sale hours: Opens Saturday, September 15 from 8 AM to 4 PM. The Sherman Arts Festival takes place on the Municipal Lawn which sits right across the street from Bearcat Stadium. The stadium is right on Hwy 75 so it's a snap to find! Whether coming north or south on US Hwy 75, exit at Washington Street and go east one block. The lawn sits on Rusk Street, one block east of 75 and one block south on Rusk. It is surrounded by Pecan, Elm and Mulberry Streets. The area will be closed off to cars, but there will be ample parking on the side streets.
